Meeting Minutes for Annual and General Meetings
Summary of Minutes of Annual Meeting 2016
The Annual meeting of the Association was held at The Narrandera Ex-Services Club on Sunday 7th February 2016 commencing at 9.30am.
A good attendance of 21 individuals representing some 10 clubs attended.
The President tabled a written report on the activities of the past year and thanked those clubs that had hosted meetings throughout the year as well as the other committee members that contributed to the successful running of the Association.
He mentioned that the two closed Competitions hosted by the Association had been very successful.
He commented that the SWAA Albury Wodonga River Classic that had been held in March had been really well supported by sponsors and attendance was good and results showed that the event had run at a profit.A sub-committee had been formed to manage the event going forward and planning was well underway for the 2016 Classic. He did however add that the planning had added considerably to the workload of the committee members and this had impacted on the general business of SWAA.
He mentioned the growth of the SWAA and with two new clubs joining this past year and the membership of the Association was strong. The Association had taken SWAA on the road with stands at various camping shows, agricultural shows and markets proving a great way to engage rec-fishers.
The Treasurer tabled a report that showed an operating surplus of $1,792.54 for the past year. .
The Association had turned over in excess of $10,000.00 for the year and currently holds assets of almost $20,000.00.
Election of Office Bearers
Vice President (Steve Malcolm) took the Chair, declared all positions vacant and thanked the outgoing Executive for a year of hard work and also commended the members for their support of the Association through attendance at meetings as well as Competitions and other events conducted by SWAA.
The following were elected:
- President - Steve Malcolm (Berrigan)
- Senior Vice President - Chris Beale (Burrumbuttock)
- Junior Vice President - Jim Muirhead (Southern Riverina Hunt Club)
- Secretary - Terry Maloney (Walbundrie)
- Treasurer - Lance Kotzur (Walbundrie)
- Publicity/Communications Officer - Anne Marie Barry (Burrumbuttock)
- Delegates - To be drawn from Executive plus Graham O'Regan & John Bowdren.
The group insurance scheme was proving to be successful with all clubs from last year again entering the scheme. As determined at the last Annual Meeting any clubs that opt out of the group scheme will need to show evidence of Public Liability Insurance and pay the nominated affiliation fee.
