Welcome to South West Anglers Association
Who We Are
(SWAA) was formed at a duly convened meeting held at Narrandera (NSW) on Sunday 22nd February 1981.
It is an Association of Recreational Angling Clubs in the South West and Riverina region of NSW.
Membership of the Association is open to any recreational angling/fishing clubs. SWAA is only an Association of clubs and no other form of membership is available.
All positions within the Association are voluntary.
SWAA represents the interests of recreational fishers in all areas of fishing and access interests and regularly attends fishing related conferences, workshops and meetings with various interest groups around the state.
An important function is also to keep the membership informed of happenings relating to freshwater fishing and has an extensive e-mail network to maintain contact with members.
Membership of the Association now exceeds 20 clubs with a combined membership of over 2000 individual fishers.
SWAA meets four times per year with meetings being rotated around the region.
On a social note the Association holds two competitions each year for members of clubs and their guests.
One held in February on the Murrumbidgee River at the Buckingbong Reserve just upstream of Narrandera and another in August at Kyffins Reserve on the banks of Lake Mulwala.
